Dorking

The Dorking is a breed of chicken that is believed to have originated in Italy during the period of the Roman Empire and was introduced in Britain at the time of the Roman Conquest, making it one of the oldest English breeds.

Barnevelders 

The Baranevelder is a Dutch breed that was developed around 1865. The hens are good layers of large brown eggs (approx. 200 pa) and are known to lay well during winter.

Australorp

Australorps originated in Australia at the turn of the 20th Century. They have a sweet temperament and are very productive egg layers. They are excellent with children and make an excellent backyard chicken.

Rhode Island Red

Rhode Island Reds are a dual purpose breed originating in the USA in the late 19th Century. They love to forage and are exceptionally curious. They love plenty of room during the day and they are excellent eggs layers.

Speckled Sussex

The plumage of the Speckled variety of Sussex all has a mix of mahogany and black with white tips. Sometimes the number of white increases as the bird moults each year. This is the most common variety of chicken in the US. However, the Light coloured Sussex is far more common in the UK.

Light Sussex

The Light Sussex has a white body with a black tail and black wing tips. Its neck is white, striped with black, and has a very striking appearance. The feathers around the neck are called hackle feathers and each one is black with a fine white lace around the edge.

Cayuga

A Cayuga Duck is a medium-class domesticated breed that has been a popular variety in the United States since the mid-19th century. They are used for egg and meat production, as well as being ornamental birds.

Gold laced Wyandotte

The Wyandotte is an American breed developed in the 1870s. It is a dual-purpose breed kept for its brown eggs and yellow-skinned meat. It is a popular show bird and has many colour variants.

Buff Orpington

The Orpington is a dual-purpose breed with a heavy, broad body and a low stance. Fluffed feathers make it look larger than it is.

Plymouth Rock

Plymouth Rocks are a dual purpose breed and originated in the USA in 1849. The birds are cold hardy and a great breed for small farms and backyards.

Belgian D’Uccles

The Belgian D’Uccle is the only bantam breed I stock. They are a delightful, cheerful, talkative bird that love being held. Excellent with children and lay approx. 175 eggs pa.
